Solution

In order to retain their position amongst the Top 5 players in the industry, the Client’s Team approached Honeycomb Creative Support for a solution. After clearly understanding the pain points, Honeycomb suggested to set-up an On-site Creative Studio at the Client’s location; On-site Creative Studio at the Client’s location, where Graphic Designers from Honeycomb would deliver artworks adhering to brand guidelines as per requirement.

Inspiration:

Years back I started my journey as a painter and have been participating in art exhibitions in Kolkata. When I got transferred to Bangalore, I started having logistical issues to manage my inventory…. Paint-airlift-send to exhibitions-airlift the unsold and get them back. That resulted into a situation where it became very difficult for me to carry on with the artform. For some years, I was without a ventilator for my creative/artistic instincts.

That’s when I took up photography. I felt – this would at least help me store my artwork digitally. Initially I didn’t have enough to invest into a camera and its accessories. I had a small house. I sold it to garner enough fund to invest in my camera, lenses and gadgets. That’s how my journey started.

Even today, when I look through the eyecup of my camera, I can see a blank canvas and then I start composing my frame.

How Honeycomb’s Fine Art Print Services helped Huawei increase Employee Engagement and Satisfaction

About the Client

Huawei is a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices. They have been in the business for over 30 years and have 2500+ employees in the Bengaluru office.

CHALLENGE

The challenge was to increase employee engagement through Hobby Clubs which conduct annual activities. The company wanted employees to take the competitions and activities conducted seriously and portray the talents to other employees so that there is more employee engagement. For the same, they thought of conducting a photography contest cum exhibition and were looking for print partners that were trustworthy, would help them in organising the event within their budget. Also, the challenge was to find these qualities for a long term joint venture for annual activities of the Hobby Clubs and would be credible enough to not share pictures with others.

SOLUTION

The solution was to help Huawei with Fine Art Prints in such a manner that would be in their budget and also would be able to print all the 500 photographs shared by employees for the competition. The solution was to print the pictures initially on postcard size out of which Honeycomb’s panel of photographers would select the winners and the best 55 would be printed on different sizes like 12x18, 16x24 and 24x36 (in inches).

EXECUTION

Honeycomb’s Epson P9000 SureColour Printer and Epson Enhanced Matte 189gsm paper were used. Initially, all 500 pictures were printed on postcard size and out of those the 55 selected were printed on different sizes upto 24x36 inches with 1-2 inches margin all around and, other 2 inches of black synthetic korean frame with Hanging Provisions. There were bushes at the back of the frame for safety and were delivered with Brush Kits. These photos delivered were packaged carefully using two butter papers for each frame and bubble wraps.

OUTCOME

The employee engagement is increasing. Employees appreciate Huawei’s efforts in conducting this photo contest cum exhibition. And, Honeycomb continues to be Huawei’s Fine Art Print Partner for the same activity since 2015.
