An interesting talk on travel photography and photo journalism was organized by Photostop, a brand owned by Honeycomb Creative support, on Saturday, 14th of Feb. The event was conducted in Kormangala, Bengaluru. About 40 people attended the same. The talk was conducted in 2 sessions with speakers Arun Bhat and N P Jayan, renowned photographers in travel Photography and Photo Journalism respectively.
Mr. Arun Bhat, professional in Travel photography, spoke of his experiences and showcased the beauty of travel photography through his images. He says he believes in wide angle photography and that each photograph should tell a story. He also taught the main technical aspects of travel photography. He showcased his visits to Bhutan, Hampi and various other places.
Mr N.P Jayan, renowned photo journalist, shared his real life experiences and captures from the events he has been part of. Photo journalism he says is commitment to society and has played a major role in bringing issues into attention of the authority. It also helps in making a social impact and his works showcased the same. He shared many of his published images and the story behind them. , few of which spoke of communal violence and other political issues. He has also conducted campaigns for the pollution caused in Sabarimala and Periyar tiger reserve, which has brought an impact for good. He also mentioned that he is starting a School of Photo Journalism next month for which admissions are open.
Managing director of Honeycomb, Mr A N Noufel shared that this is a part of the series of workshops Photostop conducts and there are many more yet to come in the future related to photography and raw image conversion & editing. He mentioned that the workshops are basically to promote the efforts of photographer and to take it to the next level.
